So, here’s part 2 of the Gingerbread House party…the adults’ version! It was a costume party, with everyone required to come appropriately attired or accept the forfeit – a party hat from the dress-up box! Guests were greeted with the dulcet tones of “Winter Wonderland” at the front door, and an eight-foot lighted gingerbread house in the hallway. Pink linens were cinched in on highboy tables with wide candy cane ribbon, reusing the centerpieces from the kids’ party the day before. A lighted bar took centerstage in the room, serving delicious festive concoctions such as a Gingerbread martini, Sparkling pomegranate and a Candy Cane cocktail. We added sequin stockings to the mantlepiece which sparkled in the soft evening lights and used white tree cutouts to create a frosted backdrop along the wall. The paper honeycomb and balloon garlands transitioned well into the evening, catching a soft glow from the dimmed lights overhead. All manner of holiday songs were crooned throughout the night, and a festive and merry time was had by all!
