A Mitzvah is a wonderful coming of adulthood and an opportunity for a cherished family celebration of the life and loves of the young Mitzvah. In Jacob’s case, this included the recognition of basketball as his overriding sporting passion! At the evening celebration, the room was dominated by a custom gobo and lit with alternating blue and orange uplighters to create columns of light around the room. We identified the adult and kid seating areas by using round tables dressed in blue linens with orange napkins for the adults, and rectangular tables with orange linens and blue napkins for the kids. This also helped give the room a more uniform, clean look rather than mixing up the oranges and blues at closer quarters, and the all-white chair covers with co-ordinating spandex bands ensured that the look of the whole room pulled together. The adult centerpieces featured real basketballs atop a lighted column of water with bud vases of orange gerbera daisies around the base. For the kid tables, we reused the Kiddush centerpieces which were made of orange gumballs and blue gerberas and featured the Mitzvah’s monogram logo. On the highboy tables, we created simple arrangements of orange gerberas, adding wide striped ribbon as an eye-catching accent. We designed the escort cards to incorporate the monogram logo which was also featured on the sign-in board, and used retro Varsity-style fonts for the text. We created a scoreboard backdrop featuring the date and time of the Mitzvah celebration and used this above the basketball-themed gift box. Always looking the part, Riff Raff sported a basketball jersey custom-made for the occasion, co-ordinating toweling headband and a pro-style shooter sleeve…!
