We went for dramatic effect with this Masquerade-themed Sweet 16 party. Guests entered through black voile drapes which pulled back to reveal huge chandeliers created as a central feature of the space. The masquerade theme was a surprise for guests who, on arrival, were invited to “accessorize” themselves at a props table, fully stocked with masks, hats, boas, gloves and various other refinements – and then Southern Night PhotoBooths were on hand to capture images of their transformations! Another feature of the space was the bar, serving specialty non-alcoholic “mocktails”. Custom mocktail menus featuring the Tornado Twist, Peach Bellini, Ying & Yang (named by the birthday girl!) and Classy Spin gave the teens a chance to try something new and more interesting than the regular soda offerings. Each one was served in a different shaped glass which was either sugar-rimmed or decorated with various cocktail picks and stirrers. The tables were dressed with turquoise linens of pin tuck taffeta or rich sequins, and decorated with groupings of fresh flowers – the hyacinths filled the air with their wonderful scent! The checkerboard dance floor made a big statement and DJ Dax had the kids dancing on it all night long. Later in the evening, everyone gathered to sing “Happy Birthday” – the cake was a gorgeous creation, decorated in intricate renaissance-style swirls which we also carried through to the gobos projected onto the walls. And as if that wasn’t enough, a s’mores station gave party-goers the chance to toast their own marshmallows. We were thrilled to get lots of compliments on our transformation of the space (by day an indoor softball facility…!) and the kids really looked to be having a great time! So fun!
